St. Mary’s Group of Institutions celebrated ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ – 75 years of Independence Day with great patriotic fervor and zeal. The Chief Guests Veteran commander H S Prakash, Indian Navy, and Mrs. Hemalatha, Professor @ Ajim Premji University escorted by the pilot band troop, hoisted the national flag and received the parade salute where the dynamic students marched in contingents to the drum beats followed by the National Anthem.

The cultural program ‘Bharathambeya Huttu Habba’, ‘Jallianwala Bagh Massacre’, ‘Des Rangila’, ‘Patriotic Flash Mob’, ‘Unity in Diversity, and ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was put up to commemorate the sacrifice of the brave freedom fighters and the rich cultural heritage of India. The highlight of the program was ‘Jallianwala Bagh Massacre’ performed by X students which was applauded by one and all.

The chief guest appreciated the consistent endeavors of our armed forces in protecting our country bravely. He urged students to realize, understand and cherish our coveted freedom and work towards a progressive nation. Dr. Mrs. Hemalata appreciated all the participants for their marvelous performances and the staff coordination under the able guidance of the principal.

The prizes were given by the dignitaries to the winners of the various competitions conducted in view of Independence Day.
