Annual Sports Meet 2024-25 Report
The St. Mary’s Convent & Public School, No.1, T. Dasarahalli, Bengaluru, successfully hosted its 31st State Board & 18th ICSE Annual Sports Meet on September 21, 2024. The event was marked by an atmosphere of excitement, with students, parents, and teachers eagerly participating and cheering.
The Chief Guest for the day was Sri. Narsimhaiah, Deputy Director of Physical Education, Bengaluru Division, and the Guest of Honour was Mrs. Umadevi Nagaraj, World Billiards and Senior Snooker Women’s Champion. Their presence added prestige and encouragement to the proceedings.
The day began with the hoisting of the school flag, setting a formal and celebratory tone. This was followed by an inter-house march past, demonstrating discipline and coordination. The ceremony of Beating of the Retreat, along with the arrival of the Olympic torch, was a symbolic moment that highlighted the values of unity, tradition, and sportsmanship. The students then took an oath to uphold these values throughout the meet.
Various sports events took place, and winners were awarded prizes as the competitions unfolded. Spectators were treated to delightful cultural performances, with dance routines by the Little Daffodils Kindergarten and students from grades VI, VII, and VIII, which captivated the audience. The boat race, the standout event of the day, brought immense excitement and drew enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.
During his speech, the Chief Guest, Sri. Narsimhaiah, emphasized the critical role of teachers in shaping the futures of students and encouraged to set high goals and persevere to achieve their dreams. His motivational message resonated with everyone present.
The day ended on a joyful note with fun-filled recreational sports for parents and teachers, fostering a sense of togetherness and community within the school.
In all, the Annual Sports Meet 2024-25 was a resounding success, leaving everyone in high spirits and eagerly awaiting the next edition of the event.
