Independence Day Celebration

St. Mary’s Convent & Public School celebrated Independence Day with immense zeal and patriotism, graced by esteemed guests: Mr. Sheshadri M L, Member of the Advisory Committee KPEA, Bengaluru, accompanied by Mrs. Jhanavi Sheshadri, and Dr. Hemalatha Mallappa from Azim Premji University.
The day commenced with a striking Guard of Honour, followed by the hoisting of the national flag by chief guest. The sight of our students’ March past filled us with pride and unity.
The festivities included cultural performances, prize distribution to co-curricular achievers, and vibrant dances reflecting freedom and national unity. The highlight of the celebration was an emotional enactment titled ‘Nation First Always First,’ performed by IX-grade students, portraying the Pulwama Attack of February 14, 2019. Furthermore, a captivating yoga display showcased students’ holistic development.
The esteemed guests emphasized the importance of passionate learning and gratitude. Dr. Hemalatha Mallappa praised the event’s unity in diversity theme and urged parents to nurture their children’s dreams. She encapsulated this year’s theme, “Nation First, Always First,” as “St. Mary’s First, Always First.”
The day was replete with moments of pride, unity, and joy, culminating in a heartfelt vote of thanks to all contributors who made the celebration a resounding success.
